Going Global: Drata Welcomes George Bonser as the VP of Sales in EMEADrata brought on George Bonser, VP of Sales in EMEA, to expand our international reach and build a best-in-class sales organization for our EMEA customers.
Buckle up, we’re continuing the expansion of our presence in EMEA this year! George Bonser has joined Drata as the Vice President of Sales in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region.
A Little About George
As Drata prepares to reach even more global customers, we brought George Bonser on to spearhead these initiatives and further build a foundation in the EMEA region.
Living in what he describes as “a quintessential English village 40 miles away from London,” George has two teenage children and Arthur, his field spaniel, who keep him quite busy. He enjoys mastering the culinary arts, golfing on the weekends, and a good bottle of French Burgundy. When the UK warms up enough, George fires up the pizza oven and cracks open a few cold beers.
George’s specialty is bringing startups to Europe—usually as the very first European hire.
He’s been part of a number of success stories, including IronPort’s acquisition by Cisco, Data Domain IPO’s acquisition by EMC, and Nimble Storage IPO’s acquisition by HPE. Most notably, George joined Okta in 2013 as their first employee in Europe with less than $1 million ARR. In five years, Okta surpassed $30 million ARR and 100 employees in EMEA.
Drata was the obvious choice for George after examining the team’s major achievements and the market fit. With the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) market projected to hit $15 billion in the next three years and Drata’s exponential growth, he realized now is the perfect time to dive in.
Drata already has a growing customer base in EMEA, and George is looking forward to investing in their continued success.

Goals for Drata in EMEA
George’s main focus is to grow EMEA revenue with accurate and predictable forecasting while continuing to build a sustainable pipeline and serve our existing EMEA customers.
Of course, in order to do this, hiring talent and bringing in a team to drive these goals will be a top priority. George’s hiring strategy begins with defining a culture of enthusiasm and motivation while cultivating an appetite for steady improvement among new hires. Using Drata’s US structure as a blueprint for EMEA’s foundation, George is already on his way to designing a clear path to success that falls in line with our mission to make compliance effortless and accessible.
