Bring Trust Center and AIQA work into Microsoft Teams

Bring Trust Center and AIQA work into Microsoft Teams
Drata’s Trust Center (formerly SafeBase) and AIQA now lives inside Microsoft Teams. Approve access requests, answer questionnaires, and query your Trust Library without leaving the channel.

Security and GRC teams often face the same productivity tax. You’re currently working in Teams. A customer requests access to your Trust Center for a SOC 2 report. You leave Teams, open SafeBase, find the request, approve it, drop back into Teams to let the Solutions Engineer know. Multiply that by twenty requests, fifteen questionnaire assignments, and a handful of "hey, do we have anything on encryption at rest?" DMs, and you've lost hours every month.

The work itself isn't the problem. The constant tab-hopping is.

SafeBase for Microsoft Teams closes that gap between your Trust Center and your conversations. The integration is available now for all customers, and it brings the SafeBase actions your team does most often—approving access, answering questionnaire rows, looking up answers in the Trust Library—into the channel where they're already working.

What You Can Do Without Leaving Teams

The SafeBase Bot routes notifications to a dedicated Teams channel and lets the right people act on them in place.

Approve or deny access requests. When a prospect or customer requests access to a document or report, the request lands in your SafeBase Notifications channel with the requester's name, company, and email. One click approves it. One click denies it. No round trip to the SafeBase app required.

Answer assigned questionnaire rows. When a teammate gets assigned a question inside an open questionnaire, the bot DMs them with the account name, questionnaire title, and a direct link. They can jump to SafeBase to answer—or they can answer it right inside Teams. Free text, multi-select, mark approved, submit. Done in the same window where they were already typing.

Ask the SafeBase AI from any conversation. Anyone on your team can hit the + icon in the Teams message bar, select the SafeBase Bot, and ask a security question in plain English. The bot pulls from your Trust Library—respecting whatever permissions that user has in SafeBase—and drops the answer into the message box so you can collaborate with team members on this answer. Multi-product Trust Center customers can scope the question to a specific product. The answer to "what's our policy on data residency in the EU?" now takes seven seconds instead of fifteen minutes of someone forwarding old questionnaires around.

Notifications also cover the rest of the operational moments your team tracks: questionnaires submitted, account access extensions, completed assessments, file downloads (single and bulk), and new Trust Center subscribers. The channel becomes a real-time feed of what's happening in your trust program.

Set Up the Integration in Teams

Installation requires both a Teams Global Admin and a SafeBase admin.

Once logged into SafeBase, go to Settings and then Integrations. This opens the SafeBase listing in the Teams App Store, where you can install the bot for your Teams organization. Back in SafeBase, hit Continue to connect, pick the Team, then pick the channel where notifications should land. Don't have one? SafeBase creates a channel called "SafeBase Notifications" for you. Click Save and you're live. Finally, check Teams for a welcome message to confirm.

Less Back and Forth, More Getting Things Done

With this integration, more of the work your team does now happens where they're already spending the bulk of their time. Reviewers approve faster. Questionnaire SMEs answer in-line. Anyone curious about the security program can ask the AI without filing a ticket or pinging the GRC lead on Teams.

That's the goal. Security workflows that fit into how your team actually works—not around them.
