Why AssuranceLab Joined Drata’s Auditor Alliance
Learn more about AssuranceLab’s decision to join our Auditor Alliance Program and why they chose Drata over other compliance automation platforms.

Since its inception, AssuranceLab has had a platform-neutral policy when it came to compliance. Our clients could use any software they preferred, and we would tailor our approach, aligning the controls and audit process to fit their needs. 

However, in September 2022, we made the decision to discontinue our partnerships with other compliance platforms and we migrated our clients to Drata with us. This change was based on three significant factors:

1. Drata Sets Accurate Expectations

Drata sets accurate expectations in the market. Claims like "SOC 2 in 2 weeks," "automate up to 90%," and “complete platform coverage” are misleading and set the wrong expectations. 

Drata educates the market on how compliance really works, and it’s the only platform where we can cover 100% of the audit requirements. This is vital in ensuring that our clients understand the full extent of a successful audit.

2. Drata Provides Customized Compliance Tools

One of the main features that stands out about Drata for Assurance Lab is the platform's configurability. Customized compliance controls are crucial for effective compliance. No two companies are the same, and their controls should reflect that. 

Drata's custom controls, frameworks, and flexible features allow us to adapt the program to fit the way our clients operate—making it more effective, easier to maintain, and helping us build trust.

For us as an audit firm that wants to help our clients find compliance that fits their business, Drata enables us to customize the platform to fit the specific needs of our clients. This leads to both better compliance outcomes and a better long-term compliance outlook.

3. Drata is Built With Integrity and Independence

Integrity and independence are non-negotiables for us, and Drata prioritizes quality and doing things the right way from the start, enabling auditors to deliver a successful audit experience. We know we can trust the data we get from the Drata Platform—they don’t take shortcuts.

We noticed other platforms often offer sales quotas and incentives to bundle audits, limiting the clients' choice, undermining the integrity of the audits and ultimately degrading trust in these standards. 

Drata's open and transparent Auditor Alliance Program offers both independence from the many participating audit firms and customer-centric collaboration, helping customers successfully reach their compliance goals.
